Summer 2010 Wrap Up

What's up WKC,
Summer 2010 was a pretty average wind season but got plenty of quality sessions in. My new favorite spot is the ski basin in Rockport, hands down best flat water spot in Corpus/Rockport.

Todd, Greg, and I are going on the 2nd annual Puerto Rico trip in January with a few other people. Looking forward to that

That's about it, over and out. OJE!

2010

Hey everyone, I'm pretty upset Gregrasante hasn't been updating this sweet site. I'd like to see a post by summer end? Maybe a write up on Puerto Rico? Just anything!

But anyways, we got a new kite year ahead of us and the wind is already started. The sand bar at Wildcat is pretty lame this year, the water is super shallow in the flat water areas so no kiteloop 7's for anyone anytime soon...except for Rocky, he's landing his tricks on the oysters and rocks. 1" of water, ten yards from shore is his ideal spot to throw kiteloop slims, its just sick.

Well I guess I need to set some ideal goals for this season and really push myself. I need to get with someone and set some goals together so we can push each other. I'd like to be landing front rolls blind, back 2 blind, and either a 313 or blind judge by the end of summer. Also wanna work on my overall style. Getting too comfortable lately just riding back in forth, gotta get out of your box and kill yourself a few times to progress.

Puerto Rico in Jan with Todd and Greg was super cool. Only rode for about 45 minutes on a 10 day trip but we all learned how to surf in one of the best surfing spots around. Double overhead, reef break, high shark alert, EPIC.

Well see ya guys out there. Rock and Chalk it.

Early Feb kiting

Whats uuuuup home skillets? Well its been more than a few months that Ive been able to ride Wildcat or anywhere on a regular basis, mostly due to last semesters load, but I've been out 4 or 5 times in the past couple weeks and lets just say I forgot how fun kiteboarding is. It's such a blast.

With only taking 15hrs this semester, Ill definately be hitting up Wildcat every chance I get. I think there are some newly exposed underwater obstacles in the shallows we all need to become aware of or just move if possible. Todd and I took out a tire or two with oysters all over them and a log? the other day from the lawn I normally mow, so we all need to be on the look out. Supposedly there are a few new oyster patches straight out from the 2 posts in the water, well get on it soon though.

But Ill be hittin it just as hard as I did last spring/summer this year, working towards gettin that official WKC tag. I think I should get extra points for talking to Mr. Hudson about this air compressor idea. Ha nah jk, but I'm gonna work on that this weekend.

For all you I havent seen out there this year yet, hope to see you soon. Until then, Rock Chalk.
